Visual and page flags
Two flags issued on the report itself.
Excessive visuals
severitywarning / infocategoryvisualsHealth ScorePages
The page carries more than it can render quickly. The finding lists the specific reasons, so you can see which of them applies.
Why it matters. Every visual on a page runs its own query when the page loads. Users experience this as the report being slow, and they rarely report it — they just use it less.
What to do. Split the page, or remove visuals nobody looks at.
What counts as too much
| Reported when | |
|---|---|
| Visuals on the page | more than 12 |
| Slicers | more than 3 |
| Non-data visuals — shapes, images, text boxes | more than 10 |
| Table visuals | more than 3 |
| Card visuals | more than 5 |
A page is flagged as a warning when it passes 12 visuals, 3 slicers or 10 non-data visuals, or when three separate reasons apply. Anything lighter is reported as information and does not affect your Health Score.
Slicers and decorative visuals count for more than people expect. Four slicers alone is enough, because each one queries the model on load. Decoration is also the cheapest thing on a page to consolidate.
One reason can be a false positive
Reports built on Excel files or unusual data sources sometimes produce visuals the analyzer cannot read, and it says so in the finding. Check the visual's data binding before treating that particular reason as a problem.
Merge cards into matrix
severitywarning / infocategoryvisualsHealth ScorePages
Several single-value Card visuals on one page show different measures under the same filters, and would work as one matrix.
Why it matters. Every visual generates its own DAX query against the semantic model. Six cards showing six measures under the same filters send six separate queries, each one scanning the model to return a single value.
A matrix holding those same six measures sends one query and gets all six values back together. The page renders faster, and the model is asked to do the work once.
What to do. Replace the group of cards with a single matrix visual. The finding names the measures involved, so you know exactly which cards it means.
A group is only reported when it has 6 or more cards and merging would genuinely save queries, so small groups where it would not help are left alone. Groups of 8 or more are a warning, 6 to 7 are information.
